Join D’Youville as we collect and explore the compelling personal stories of our nation’s veterans and preserve them for future generations.
The D’Youville Student Veterans of America in association with the Montante Family Library is a proud contributor to the U.S. Library of Congress Veterans History Project and encourages veterans and their family members to connect with us as we archive the personal history of our veterans.
About the Veterans History Project
The Veterans History Project was created by the U.S. Congress as part of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and tasked with gathering, preserving, and making available the personal accounts of American war veterans.
As a partner, the D'Youville Student Veterans of America chapter collects veteran stories through audio, video, and written narratives; personal correspondence, including letters, postcards, and personal diaries; photographs; and personal drawings. These materials are used to tell the biographies of the veterans of Buffalo and Western New York and to help represent the realities of war and veteran service.
