Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials is a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration and others, as part of an international effort to hand search the world's journals and create an unbiased source of data for systematic reviews. Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials includes reports published in conference proceedings and in many other sources not currently listed in MEDLINE® or other bibliographic databases. This database is updated quarterly.

Cochrane Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects includes abstracts of published systematic reviews on the effects of health care from around the world, which have been critically analyzed according to a high standard of criteria. Reviewers at the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York, England conduct this appraisal. DARE's abstracts include a description of the systematic reviews methodology, results and conclusions. It provides access to quality reviews in subjects for which a Cochrane review may not yet exist.

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews contains full text articles, as well as protocols focusing on the effects of healthcare. The reviews are highly structured and systematic, with evidence included or excluded on the basis of explicit quality criteria, to minimize bias. Data is evidence-based medicine and is often combined statistically (with meta-analysis) to increase the power of the findings of numerous studies, each too small to produce reliable results individually. Now included in the 4800-plus records are 22 reviews which formerly made up the Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews. This database is updated quarterly.

Cochrane Health Technology Assessments

Cochrane Health Technology Assessments database provides details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical and economic implications of healthcare interventions) from around the world. The aim of the database is to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care. In addition to systematic reviews, HTA contains ongoing and completed research based on trials, questionnaires and economic evaluations. Included are more than 3,000 descriptive abstracts and nearly 7,000 total records. When available, links to summaries, full text or the web site of the research agency are included in the abstracts. The HTA database is produced by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York, UK, using information obtained from members of International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA) and other health technology assessment organizations.

Cochrane NHS Economic Evaluation Database

Cochrane NHS Economic Evaluation Database assists decision-makers in the world of professional health care by providing information on the costs and effects of drugs, treatments and procedures. Economic evaluations - the cost-benefit analysis of two or more different medical treatments - from around the world are systematically identified, described and appraised for quality while their relative strengths and weaknesses are explored and highlighted. The database contains over 6,000 abstracts of quality-assessed economic evaluations and more than 21,000 total records. NHS EED is produced by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York, UK.

Digital Dissertations

Available through ProQuest, this database includes over 2 million master's theses and dissertations, with over 60,000 titles added every year. Abstracts free online. First 24 pages may be viewed and printed free as well. Search may be limited by a number of factors. You may order a full-text copy of any dissertation through Interlibrary Loan. Health & Psychosocial Instruments (HAPI)

Health and Psychosocial Instruments features citation material on unpublished medical measurement instruments such as questionnaires, interview schedules, tests, checklists, rating and other scales, coding schemes, and projective techniques. Over 2/3 of the tools are in medical and nursing areas. This database also includes tests used in medically related disciplines including psychology, social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech & hearing therapy with specific subject areas of Emergency Medicine & Trauma, Pediatrics, Psychology, Oncology, Geriatrics, Behavioral Science, Anesthesiology, Social Work, Critical Care Medicine and Women's Health.

Health & Wellness Resource Center

Database includes 400 health/medical journals, pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Thomson Gale reference titles. Search options include Medical Encyclopedia, Health News, Health Organization Directory, Drug & Herb Finder, Medical Dictionary, Alternative Health Encyclopedia as well as Health Assessment Tools.

MEDLINE (Ebsco) (Ovid)

Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) from over 4,800 current biomedical journals covering medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and pre-clinical sciences. Includes citations from Index Medicus, International Nursing Index, Index to Dental Literature, HISTLINE, SPACELINE, PREMEDLINE, AIDSLINE, BIOETHICSLINE, and HealthSTAR.

Mental Measurements Yearbook

From the Buros Institute this database covers more than 2,200 tests in categories such as personality, developmental, behavioral assessment, neuropsychological, achievement, intelligence and aptitude, educational, speech & hearing, and sensory motor. Each entry includes test name and classification, author(s), publisher, publication date, price, time requirements, score descriptions, levels, and intended populations. This database is updated every six months.

OTseeker

This database contains abstracts of systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials relevant to occupational therapy. Trials have been critically appraised and rated to assist you to evaluate their validity and interpretability. These ratings will help you to judge the quality and usefulness of trials for informing clinical interventions. In one database, OTseeker provides you with fast and easy access to trials from a wide range of sources.

Proquest Research Library

PsycINFO

Available from the American Psychological Association (APA) this database contains approximately 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines. 97 % of the material is peer-reviewed.

SPORTDiscus

This is a multi-disciplinary database providing strong content in the areas of education, general science, the humanities, social sciences and business. Wilson also provides decent literary criticism resources as well as indexing and abstracts across many subjects. Searches are easily narrowed by discipline using the subject area limiters shown on the main search screen. Mostly full-text.
