The Montante Family Library connects students and faculty to an abundance of easily-accessible information and helpful research assistance.
About the Library
The library is housed in a magnificently renovated four-story building. It contains approximately 100,000 volumes including microforms and software and subscribes to over 700 print journals. The library boasts state-of-the-art computer reference capabilities for both in-house and off-site users including access to over 70 online databases. A reference collection, a 96-station computer lab, wireless Internet connectivity and study rooms are available. The library provides both group-viewing and portable TV/ DVD/VCR units. The software collection includes DVDs, videocassettes, compact discs, cassettes and other formats.
The mission of the Montante Family Library of D'Youville College is to actively participate
in the education of students, and to support the research and curricular needs of
the entire college community.
The Montante Family Library fosters academic excellence and freedom of inquiry by providing access to a broad spectrum of information in the areas of study supported by the College's curriculum.
The Student Lounge is located on the 2nd floor of the Library and is equipped with tables, chairs, and vending machines. Students may bring food into the Library, provided that they eat it in the student lounge. As stated in the Montante Family Library's Food & Beverage Policy, eating or drinking in the reading, studying, or computing areas of the library is strictly prohibited.
Food and Beverage Policy
Eating and drinking anywhere in the Library other than in the Student Lounge, located on the building's second floor, is strictly prohibited.
Library users seen with food or beverages outside the Student Lounge will be asked to go to the lounge until they have finished eating and/or drinking. Library patrons repeatedly seen with food or beverages anywhere in the Library other than in the Student Lounge may be asked to leave the building and run the risk of having their library privileges revoked.
